You dwell in a tired sigh

There’s room for plenty of tired sighs. Let’s add another line to this:
you dwell in a hopeless cry,
you dwell in a tired sigh.
Is that more like it? Does that describe your situation even better, that hopeless cry? Question: who is in that hopeless cry / tired sigh with you?

Count the cost 2

I do know now, after these past 7 years.  Some of it was for others, based on feedback I’ve received.  Some of it was certainly for me.  The cost has been high.  And yet, looking at the image at the top, I realize that when we’re talking about this particular cost, it’s really not necessary to blow up the budget – because the budget is way bigger than we can even begin to realize.

Science vs God – The Concepts of String Theory

This entry is part 3 of 5 in the series Science vs. God

Given that I’m a “lowly mortal” and not perfect – I need to be sure you get this next part.  What is suggested here is only a possibility – a possible explanation of why we might perceive these 11 dimensions.  I make no statement as to what God actually did, does or will do.  It’s an explanation of how the Bible and science might be much more in line than many people think – as opposed to the all too easy position to take that the Bible and science are totally at odds with each other.

Evolution debate will soon be history?

This entry is part 2 of 5 in the series Science vs. God

One of the warnings we get from Jesus is this – Mt 10:32 “Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven. 33 But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven.” Like I said – the question of who gets credit for “evolution” – whether it’s atheistic or theistic evolution – is a huge deal.  Who gets the credit, from your point of view?

Satan – beginning, end, and more

This entry is part 1 of 1 in the series Satan - The Beginning, The End, and Before The Beginning

Somewhere between those two extremes is realizing that Satan and his fallen angels do exist, and knowing enough about them that we won’t be one of those who get tricked or caught up in one of Satan’s traps – and losing our soul, as Jesus told us in this explanation of the Parable of The Sower –

We know nothing of religion here: we think only of Christ.

This entry is part 6 of 7 in the series God versus religion - why?

And that is what should be our focus. Not the things that drive wedges between people – not on one religion’s minute details that cause us to focus on something other than Jesus.

What’s most important to you?

This is a great quote. It reminds us that Heaven, Hell and earth are three different things. While Christians recognize that Hell is worse than, and therefore different from, earth – too many seem to think that the same isn’t quite so true for earth and Heaven. They think things from earth will be in Heaven – or that Heaven will come to earth. Or some variation of that.

Be careful what you ask for

What some of us may have a hard time realizing is that people with attitudes like this can actually reach a point where they’re quite “happy and content” with life as they know it. Notice – I put quotes around “Happy and content” – because it’s happiness and contentment as they know it. Never having allowed themselves to experience anything else – they assume that whatever they now have in life is as good as it’s going to get.

Does persecution have to be violent to have an impact?

Does persecution really need to be violent to be effective? Or are we just so “blinded” by ordinary life that we don’t even know what persecution is? Are we actually being violently persecuted – and don’t even “have eyes to see” it? Do we even know what persecution means any more?

Parables and Hype Cycles (Part 4)

And so now we’re ready for Revelation. And finding out what happens to the “seeds” that fell in all four areas – which of course is a way to describe everyone who is – has been – and will be on the face of this earth. God has offered salvation to all of us – but only those who successfully make it through the hype cycle – who achieve a relationship with our Savior, Jesus – are guaranteed that salvation.

Revelation, Jesus and Hype Cycles (Part 3)

As you read through these, if you’re already a Christian – think about your own experiences, like with reading the Bible and what you’ve expected after that. You’ll probably see yourself as having gone through these very feelings.
If you’re not a Christian – this will give you an idea of what to expect, and let you know that if / when you feel discouraged or wondering about things as you move along – you’re not alone. It’s part of the process of getting to know / believe / follow Jesus.

Revelation, People and Hype Cycles (Part 2)

As you read through these, if you’re already a Christian – think about your own experiences, like with reading the Bible and what you’ve expected after that. You’ll probably see yourself as having gone through these very feelings.
If you’re not a Christian – this will give you an idea of what to expect, and let you know that if / when you feel discouraged or wondering about things as you move along – you’re not alone. It’s part of the process of getting to know / believe / follow Jesus.

Revelation and Hype Cycles – Introduction

Anyway – back to the hype cycle. When you look at it from the human behavioral point of view – it makes sense that the hype cycle and Revelation would have so much in common. After all – while Gartner presumes to know people in the IT field very well – who knows more about all of us than the One who created us? (Answer: no one.)
