Did God really say, “You will surely die” (תָּמוּת מוֹת)? Do you know the answer to that question? Do you know where it came from? It wasn’t Christmas or Easter. But the failure to correctly answer that question led to our need for Christmas and Easter. And some other things.
Here in the U.S. the push is for Christians to say Merry Christmas. Actually, it’s more of a push by Christians to make everyone say Merry Christmas? But is that even appropriate, for various reasons? One of which is the word merry. Isn’t blessed, as in “have a Blessed Christmas”, much better?

Oh – by the way – that forgiveness thing. It’s good for anything we have done. Literally – anything. There’s nothing, no matter what some may say, that won’t be forgiven. Some would say if you’ve done certain things – you can’t be in “the church”. Well – maybe not in their “church”. But in Jesus’ church – sincerely ask for forgiveness from Jesus – and you will be forgiven.
Has the Easter Bunny messed up our concept of Easter so much that even Christians don’t really know what it’s about?
Apparently, the answer, in too many cases, is an astounding YES!
For me, it wasn’t just the blood of Jesus. Not like that’s anything I should even use the word “just” with. But I was young. And it was Paul that scared me to death. I knew I’d never be asked to be Jesus. But Paul – that’s a different story. And it’s not like Paul was the only follower of Jesus that suffered. Heck – they all did. I din’t want that.
