proselytizers of a new faith

I am convinced that the battle for humankind’s future must be waged and won in the public school classroom by teachers who correctly perceive their role as the proselytizers of a new faith ...

Questions - Who said that?  What is this "new faith"?

And what does this have to do with what the Apostle Paul wrote in Ephesians 6:11?

Answer #1 - who said it - Professor J. Dunphy.

Who is he?  The author of “A Religion for a New Age”, which was published in Humanist Magazine.

What is Humanist Magazine?  An atheist publication.

How can an atheist publication talk about a new faith?  Read on and prepare to be really upset.

Here's more of the quote at the top of the page -

“I am convinced that the battle for humankind’s future must be waged and won in the public school classroom by teachers who correctly perceive their role as the proselytizers of a new faith: a religion of humanity that recognizes and respects the spark of what theologians call divinity in every human being. These teachers must embody the same selfless dedication as the most rabid fundamentalist preachers, for they will be ministers of another sort, utilizing a classroom instead of a pulpit to convey humanist values in whatever subject they teach, regardless of the educational level—preschool day care or large state university. The classroom must and will become an arena of conflict between the old and the new—the rotting corpse of Christianity, together with all its adjacent evils and misery, and the new faith of humanism.… It will undoubtedly be a long, arduous, painful struggle replete with much sorrow and many tears, but humanism will emerge triumphant. It must if the family of humankind is to survive.”

Note things like this -

  • Passionate fundamentalist preachers are rabid - like diseased dogs.
Passionate teachers pushing atheism are showing selfless dedication.
  • Preachers - that's another word for ministers.  No matter which word is used, talking about religion by these people in a public school needs to be attacked and stopped.
Teachers - must be ministers of another sort.  But still ministers.  But this type of minister is not only OK - but must be doing their thing all throughout the school system. Starting at preschool!
  • Christianity is a rotting corpse, coming with all sorts of evils and misery.
Humanism is the hope for the future of humankind - and it will merge triumphant.

Why are these things not brought up in courts - and humanism treated for what it really is?

Humanism is a religion.

And that religion is all about destroying people's faith in God.

And who is most interested in destroying people's faith in God?  Satan.

Therefore, it's not unreasonable to conclude that humanism is a religion backed by - and worshiping, however much it's proponents may deny it - Satan.

Not buying that conclusion?

Here's a quote from "Confession of a Professed Atheist", by Aldous Huxley -

I had motives for not wanting the world to have meaning; consequently assumed that it had none, and was able without any difficulty to find satisfying reasons for this assumption.… For myself, as no doubt, for most of my contemporaries, the philosophy of meaninglessness was essentially an instrument of liberation. The liberation we desired was simultaneous liberation from a certain political and economic system, and liberation from a certain system of morality. We objected to the morality because it interfered with our sexual freedom.

To tell what that means, here's a quote from Creation: Remarkable Evidence of God's Design, by Grant Jeffrey

This remarkable admission reveals that Huxley and his contemporaries’ real reason for their commitment to the philosophy of evolution was to enable them to escape the moral implications of a Universe where God created humans who had a moral response to His decrees. The thought of their ultimate responsibility to their Creator was so hateful that Huxley and his followers did everything in their power to denigrate God, Creation, and the Bible that affirmed that we will all some day stand before our Creator on the day of judgment.

So - if you weren't buying what I've said before - how about now?

And if you're even a little bit believing that maybe the humanist view is correct in some ways - like that evolution is true and the Bible is wrong about Creation is Genesis - How are you feeling now?
If you're having doubts about God creating everything - and thinking that maybe evolution is true - how are you feeling about being associated with a belief that was pushed by people for the reasons above?
