“(Justice Stephen) Breyer wrote that “the surgical-center requirement, like the admitting privileges requirement, provides few, if any, health benefits for women, poses a substantial obstacle to women seeking abortions and constitutes an ‘undue burden’ on their constitutional right to do so.”
In a nation formed with this statement in the Declaration of Independence –
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.
-are these justices really saying that we have a God given right to kill unborn human beings – and on top of that, there’s no requirement to add protections for the women who may be at risk from the abortion? After all – isn’t health risk to the mother given as one of the reasons for getting to an abortion? And then going even further – requiring a certain level of access to a hospital gives the woman few, if any, health benefits?
So now we’ve reached a point where both the unborn baby and the woman have lost their rights to Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness?
