Can science and evangelical leaders work together?

Just saw the article from Christianity Today about the Perceptions Project to talk about if Is there “a way for scientific and religious communities to work together more productively”.  Could be interesting, especially for those taking part who have read C. S. Lewis’ The Screwtape Letters:

Above all, do not attempt to use science (I mean, the real sciences) as a defence against Christianity.

If you’re not familiar with the book, the quote is from Screwtape – who is training his nephew on how to be a devil.  Screwtape is warning the little devil in-training not to go near science when trying to subvert his would-be Christian “patient”.  Great book, if you haven’t read it yet.

We Christians really need to embrace science, because as time goes on, science is providing more and more evidence that God must exist.  Once there’s an acceptance that in fact, God is real, one of the hard parts is done, and the Holy Spirit can really work.
