While science looks for an answer, the Bible actually provides one.  No – we are not alone.  The puzzling thing about that answer is that too often we want nothing to do with it.  Instead of asking whether findings are evidence of the God of the Bible, He is ignored while we look for someone / something else.

Without recognizing that we are special because we have the breath of life from God – I supposed there’s a lot to be afraid of.   Thinking that machines will self-actualize, like HAL in 2001 A Space Odyssey, could lead one to be afraid of AI.  Knowing that it takes the breath of God to make us what we are, leads one to not be afraid of AI.  No matter how smart we may think we are – we don’t have, and never will have, the ability to give anything the breath of life from God. No.  It’s not AI that we need to be afraid of. …

The way back home

God – is it time for me to go home?

If you’ve read anything I’ve written about my past, you would know that answer is shocking.  There are times I wanted so badly to reach the end of this life and go to live in God’s Kingdom.  To be saying I have more to offer here in this life instead of “going home” is beyond belief.  And yet – I said it.  It is something I’ve spoken to the senior pastor at church about – that I really should find ways to use the gifts God has given me.  But here, when it comes right down to it, I was still surprised to “hear” me saying this.
