It’s Over
I was trying to say that certain things are over before you realize it, before anybody realizes it.

You and your household
This phrase is used in the Bible several times. I ‘m writing about it now, because I’m working on an article about two very complex words – “believe in” – from this verse –
Ac 16:31 They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.”

Like the United States, The People’s Republic of China has freedom of religion. It says so in the U S Constitution and in the PRC Regulations on Religious Affairs, so it must be true? Right? I mean – just look at the first amendment for the U. S. – Congress shall make no law

But with the spiritual war – there’s a danger with the killer instinct. When Satan has someone down – going too far to beat the person into a feeling of hopelessness can actually be a bad thing. As Screwtape tries to point out to his nephew – there’s a danger. God does His greatest works with people in those really down moments. There’s a fine line between someone being down and out – versus down and looking for help / hope.
The more you tighten your grip, Satan … More
Somewhere between those two extremes is realizing that Satan and his fallen angels do exist, and knowing enough about them that we won’t be one of those who get tricked or caught up in one of Satan’s traps – and losing our soul, as Jesus told us in this explanation of the Parable of The Sower –

Essentially – the message comes down to – Do not be afraid, unless there’s a real reason for you to be afraid.

That’s not to say I didn’t have second thoughts – didn’t wonder if the cost was getting too high. I did have them. I even ran away a few times. Fortunately, I always returned.

If you’ve read anything I’ve written about my past, you would know that answer is shocking. There are times I wanted so badly to reach the end of this life and go to live in God’s Kingdom. To be saying I have more to offer here in this life instead of “going home” is beyond belief. And yet – I said it. It is something I’ve spoken to the senior pastor at church about – that I really should find ways to use the gifts God has given me. But here, when it comes right down to it, I was still surprised to “hear” me saying this.
God – is it time for me to go home? More
Many people take one side of an issue. It’s an either – or thing. .But what of there’s another possibility?
No – not a third option, but the possibility that “either” and “or” are both correct.
Sounds impossible, doesn’t it? Especially when people are so passionate (stubborn?) about the issue.

We (Christians) tend to focus on the part about the healthy not needing a doctor – but only the sick. The part about mercy and sacrifice – I feel like we (Christians) tend to think this message was meant for the Jewish leaders – but not for us. Which is unfortunate.
